Abstract
The economy of Sulawesi Barat in the first quarter of 2023 measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on valid prices reached 13.55 trillion rupiah, while on the basis of constant 2010 prices reached 8.29 trillion rupiah.
The economy of Sulawesi Barat in the first quarter of 2023 experienced a growth of 3.59 percent when compared to the first quarter of 2022 (Y-on-Y). Increasing the creation of added value occurs in 11 out of a total of 17 business categories. The largest source of economic growth occurs in the categories of agriculture, forestry and fisheries. While in terms of expenditure, the largest source of economic growth comes from the export net component (export-import).
The economy of Sulawesi Barat quarter I-2023 experienced a contraction of 3.99 percent compared to quarter IV-2022 (Q-to-Q).
On the regional scale in the Sulawesi region of Maluku Papua, the highest economic growth in the first quarter of 2023 (Y-on-y) occurred in North Maluku by 16.50 percent, followed by Central Sulawesi by 13.18 percent and Southeast Sulawesi by 6.48 percent. The Sulawesi Barat experienced a growth of 3.59 percent, occupying the highest position of the eighth of the ten provinces.
