October 2024, West Sulawesi Farmer Exchange Rate is 147.65. Up 2.58% compared to September 2024

NTP is a comparison of It to Ib which is used to indicate the exchange rate (terms of trade) of agricultural products with goods and services consumed or for production costs. The higher the NTP, the relatively stronger the level of farmers' ability/purchasing power.

Starting in January 2020, a change was made to the base year in calculating the Farmer's Received Price Index (It) and the Farmer's Paid Price Index (Ib) from the base year 2012=100 to the base year 2018=100. Both types of indexes are components in calculating the Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP). This change in the base year was made to adjust for changes in production patterns, production costs, and consumption of agricultural households in rural areas. In the base year 2018=100, there was an increase in the coverage of the number of commodities in both the It and Ib commodity packages compared to the base year 2012=100.

Sulawesi Barat NTP in October 2024 was 147.65 or an increase of 2.58 percent compared to NTP in September 2024 which was 143.94. The increase in NTP was due to an increase in It of 2.23 percent while Ib was recorded as decreasing by 0.34 percent. NTP by subsector was recorded for the Food Crops Subsector (NTP-P) 103.75; Horticulture Subsector (NTP-H) 108.45; Community Plantation Crops Subsector (NTP-R) 192.61; Livestock Subsector (NTP-T) 94.85; and Fisheries Subsector (NTN-P) 100.33.
