Abstract

IDI is composit indicator that show the growth level of democracy in Indonesian.. Performance level measured based on implementation and growth of three democration aspect, that are Civil Liberty, Political Rights, and Institution of Democracy.

Measurement Methodology of IDI use four data source that are: (1) review of local newspaper, (2) review of document (Regional regulation, Governoor regulation, etc), (3) Focus Group Discussion (FGD), dan (4) deep interview.

Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) of Sulawesi Barat 2016 is 72,37 in 0 to 100 scale. This number increased compared with 2015 IDI number amount of 68,25. Performance of Indonesian democracy still at “medium” category. Classification of democracy level group by 3 category, that are “good” (index > 80), “medium” (index 60-80), and “bad” (index < 60).

Change of Indonesian Democracy Index (IDI) number of Sulawesi Barat from 2015-2016 affected by three democracy aspect that are (1) Civil Liberty increased 1,01 point (from 81,88 to 82,89), (2) Political Rights increased 7,86 point (from 61,16 to 69,02), and (3) Institution of Democracy increased 2,10 point (from 62,37 to 64,47).
