The flood did not dampen the spirit of Data Collection, Regsosek

December 9, 2022 | BPS Activities

Social Economic Registration (Regsosek) is the government's effort to build a single population data, or one data. By using a single data, the government can carry out its various programs in an integrated, non-overlapping, and more efficient manner.

Regsosek data can be used to improve the quality of various government services such as education, social assistance, health, to population administration. Research and study data collection was carried out simultaneously in all regions of Indonesia by more than 400 thousand officers. Majene Regency itself has a total of 287 officers spread across 8 sub-districts.

In collecting data, officers often encounter problems in the field. One of them is the weather. High rainfall caused most areas in Majene Regency to experience flooding. The flood height is estimated to reach the knees to the chest of an adult, or approximately 50 to 100 centimeters. the cause of this flood is the rainfall that has occurred since the night and the flood occurred at dawn when some residents were temporarily praying at dawn.

As a result of the current flood, the houses, documents and vehicles of some of the research officers were submerged so that the officers did not collect data for several days. However, this did not dampen the enthusiasm of the officers to complete the data collection on time. In addition to collecting data, officers also geotagged photos of floors, walls, ceilings and toilets. In conducting geotagging after the flood, several officers experienced several obstacles, such as toilets that were dirty because of the mud, and some of the respondents' houses even collapsed due to the flood. However, the obstacles experienced by officers who were quite disturbing can be resolved properly.
